    The little chiffon neckerchiefs of yesteryear have been replaced this summer by long flowing scarves in lace, crocheted yarns and threads and silk .
     Who cares if the mercury's rising ? Just tie one on !

                     This year's versions have a decidedly international flair,
                      with patterns and trim inspired by far-flung spots like

             Spring skirts are the ultimate transition pieces,
             whether paired with turtlenecks and boots for the final flourish of winter;
             suit jackets and crisp cotton shirts for early spring;
             or with T-shirts and flip-flops for summer.
